Return to Play

The road back to touch football is finally a bit clearer, and here is all the information you need to know for a safe return to play at Wallsend Touch.

What We Know

• Community sport can return once NSW reaches 80% double dose vaccination – projected date of October 25.

• Only fully vaccinated people or those with an exemption can participate (vaccination is only required for 16 years and over)

• Everyone can participate once NSW reaches 90% double vaccination regardless of vaccination status – projected date December 1.

Based on this information we are aiming to commence our senior and junior park touch competitions on the follwing dates:

Juniors – 26 October

Seniors – 1 November

We have worked out a schedule that will include some double header weeks, this will allow us to finish in time for Christmas.

A calendar of games for our senior competiton can be found here, whilst dates for our junior competition will be posted in the coming weeks. Please note that whilst we endeavour to follow the above calendar it is a guideline only and may be subject to change.

What We Don’t Know

The Public Health Order (PHO) for community sport has not yet been released so we do not know yet exactly what restrictions we will be bound by. So whilst we have a plan to commence, any additional restrictions may require us to change up the plan. For example, if the PHO has restrictions on the number of participants at the fields, this would impact our ability to run double headers and affect our end dates. We will endeavour to keep you all posted if any changes are required.

In the meantime, dust off those boots, get your regos sorted and see you all soon!

NOTE – If you are already registered to our original Spring Comp (prior to lockdown), you do not need to register again.
