Notice of Special General Meeting of Wallsend Touch Association

- Located at Ron Andrews Clubhouse, Upper Reserve, Lewis St Wallsend
On 31 March 2026, in accordance with the Wallsend Touch Association Constitution (WTA Constitution), written notice is hereby given that the Wallsend Touch Association Executive has scheduled a Special General Meeting (SGM) of members of Wallsend Touch Association. The SGM will be held on Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at 6:30pm.
The business of the meeting is to consider & vote on the following proposed changes to the WTA Constitution:
- To add ‘Representative Co-Ordinator’ to the executive committee to ensure all areas and cohorts of Wallsend Touch Association are represented within the roles of executive.
- To remove the role description of the Operations Officer and Administration Officer from the constitution and place within the WTA Policy and Procedure – No other executive role descriptions nor committee role descriptions are embedded within the constitution. They are all located in the WTA Policy and Procedure. Changes have been made to ensure consistency throughout the WTA Constitution.

NOTES –
- A special resolution may only be passed by the Association in accordance with section 39 of the Act – Associations Incorporation Act 2009 No 7 – NSW Legislation that states:
- a special resolution is passed by an association as a special resolution if it is supported by at least three-quarters of the votes cast by members of the association
- Quorum: As per Section 30(2) of the WTA Constitution – Five (5) members present (being members entitled under the WTA Constitution to vote at a general meeting) constitute a quorum for the transaction of the business of a general meeting.
As per the definition of a ‘Special general meeting’ in the WTA Constitution, – A special general meeting is ‘A general meeting of the Association other than an annual general meeting at which extraordinary business is discussed.
